Ampacity values based on NEC Table 400-5(A).
Color-code sequence is white, black, green, red.
Applications
Type Soow flexible cords are permitted for use per Article 400 of the NEC in wiring for industrial machinery, motors and associated equipment, portable tools and equipment, and temporary electrical power and lighting installations for construction sites. Also suitable for indoor and outdoor use, for use in dry locations not to exceed min. -40 deg. C. or max. 90 deg. C., wet locations and other applicable locations; or when exposed to oil or coolant at temperatures not to exceed 60 deg. C. Ideal for flex applications in harsh environments where the highest degree of oil resistance and extended service life are essential.
Construction
Flexible stranded copper conductors, heat, moisture and oil resistant EPR (Ethylene-Propylene-Rubber) insulated, color-coded (Color-code sequence is white, black, green, red.) conductors cabled with fillers and a separator wrapped around the assembly to promote easier jacket removal, heat, moisture and oil resistant flexible CPE (Chlorinated Polyethylene) jacket overall, surface printed.
Standards
Copper conductors per ASTM B-3 & B-174.
Cables conform to UL-62, Flexible Cord and Fixture Wire.
Cables conform to requirements of Federal and Military Specification JC-580B.
